The Simplest Way To Motivate Yourself
I Learned This Five Years Ago
I wish I had learned this earlier in life. Or at least, I had been taught this by a caring teacher/adult.
I’m keeping and easy.
Here it is.
Stack up on the easy wins.
To make it even simpler, complete something easy.
When I started writing, everything I wanted to do seemed so hard. Too difficult for a beginner like I was. According to some blogs, writing a novel took years and a plotting mindset, both of which I didn’t have.
And getting discovered by a traditional publisher was near impossible for someone who had no contacts.
So I didn’t write. I was stalled in my writing journey.
Until I started my Authortube channel. It’s not that the channel took off and had tons of success. I’m sure that it still doesn’t. But through the practice of consistently getting videos done and out there, I felt great. Energetic. Alive. And I wrote a lot.
That’s when I learned the truth. If I stacked up on the wins, then I could keep my motivation. In any area of my life.
Now, I can write whenever I want, however long I want.
I can make Youtube videos without too much stress.
And I can play the piano without being self-conscious.
All it took was completing one task over and over, the easy stuff in every one of these categories.
What are some easy wins that you can start stacking?
